Department of Public Safety

The Department of Pulbic Safety was the euphemistic name of the Earth Unity Government's interstellar fleet. The Department of Public Safety was a militar fleet tasked with the supervision of all commerce, communication and colonization between Earth and the colony worlds. When the Sirius Revolutionary Congress seceded from the Earth Unity Government at the start of the Earth-Sirius War, the Department of Public Safety dispatched a fleet to Rondolina, chief among the rebel colonies, occupying the planet. The Department of Public Safety's military forces, while numerically and technoogically superior to the rebels, were very undisciplined. After a number of disasterous engagements with the rebels' Black Fleet, the Department of Public Safety's were completely routed, allowing the Black Fleet to successfully mount a planetary assault on Earth, annihilating the Earth Unity Government.
