Located on the Free Planets Alliance side of the Iserlohn Corridor, the Van-Fleet star system was the site of numeous engagements between Allied and Imperial forces throughout the FPA-Imperial War.
The Van-Fleet starzone is home to 8 planets, none of which are colonized, due primarily to the highly unstable nature of the Van-Fleet star, itself. The intense electromagnetic interference from the star makes most forms of communication exceptionally difficult, hampering both any possible efforts at colonization, as well as the navigation and coordination of starships.
On March 11, of Imperial Year 794, the Galactic Empire launched an invasion into the Van Fleet starzone. This battle saw the first fleet command of Rheinhard von Lohengramm, newly-promoted to the rank of commodore.
